Pokémon Trading Card Game and Stadium 2 coming to Nintendo Switch Online Collection

The cherished 1998 digital version of the Pokémon Trading Card Game will now be available on Nintendo Switch Online’s Game Boy library, alongside the addition of Pokémon Stadium 2.

Unveiled during the August Pokémon Presents event, The Pokémon Company has at last disclosed one of its Game Boy titles for the Switch platform. Although it might not be the most requested classic game, the Pokémon TCG still holds a special place in fans’ hearts.

Both games are accessible on the service starting from August 8. To download the Pokémon Trading Card Game and Stadium 2, users will require both a Nintendo Switch Online subscription and the Expansion Pack. All of this can be conveniently accomplished through the Switch Online app on the console itself.

The classic Pokémon titles such as Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, and Crystal were noticeably absent from the event’s announcements. Nevertheless, the introduction of the Pokémon Trading Card Game could potentially pave the path for the inclusion of additional Game Boy titles in the forthcoming times.

The Pokémon Presents event also saw two Pokémon animated series announced alongside the addition of Scarlet and Violet Pokémon to Pokémon Go, and the release date for The Teal Mask expansion.
