Apple’s recent Wonderlust event, which took place on Tuesday, was primarily focused on unveiling the iPhone 15 and Apple Watch. Notably, there were some intriguing additions for mobile gamers, particularly for those who are interested in the iPhone 15 Pro!

The driving force behind the enhanced gaming experience on the new Pro series of iPhones is the A17 Pro chip, which Apple officially introduced during the event. This latest processor represents a significant leap forward in mobile gaming capabilities, boasting superior graphics performance and incorporating ray tracing technology, which enhances the realism of lighting effects in video games.

Thanks to the impressive capabilities of this powered-up chip, Apple has announced that popular console titles like Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Death Stranding, and Assassin’s Creed Mirage are slated to make their way to the iPhone 15 Pro within the next year. This marks a groundbreaking moment for Apple, as it represents the first instance of complete versions of “AAA” console games becoming available on the mobile platform. Switch 2 grows closer as Nintendo shows developers demo at Gamescon 2023

Nintendo apparently provided a sneak peek at the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 during a private presentation at Gamescom last month. According to Eurogamer’s report, a few trusted developers were given an early glimpse of the Switch 2, along with some technical demonstrations showcasing how games would perform on this yet-to-be-officially-announced system.

Among the showcased content was reportedly an enhanced version of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, optimized to leverage the advanced hardware capabilities of the Nintendo Switch 2. This information aligns with prior rumors from Windows Central’s Jez Corden, who had hinted at Nintendo discussing a next-generation Switch with specific developers at Gamescom.

Shortly after Eurogamer’s report, VGC confirmed these assertions and disclosed that Nintendo had also exhibited Epic Games’ The Matrix Awakens Unreal Engine 5 tech demo, running on hardware specifications in line with Nintendo’s next console aspirations. It was mentioned that this demo utilized Nvidia’s DLSS upscaling technology and had ray tracing capabilities enabled, suggesting a substantial chip upgrade collaboration between Nintendo and Nvidia for this upcoming next-generation gaming system.

There is a possibility that the next Nintendo console could make its debut in the year 2024.

Early last month, rumors for a Christmas 2024 launch for the Nintendo Switch 2 was revealed by VGC, and console development kits were being handed over to select “key partner studios”.
