Expected To Unveil Affordable PS5 Slim Later This Year, Microsoft Says

According to Microsoft, there are indications that a PS5 Slim model may be launched later this year with a potential price tag of $399.99. The company, currently involved in the FTC v. Microsoft hearing, has submitted legal documents in which it expresses the belief that a PS5 Slim is forthcoming in the near future.

“PlayStation likewise sells a less expensive Digital Edition for $399.99, and is expected to release a PlayStation 5 Slim later this year at the same reduced price point.”

In addition, Microsoft has made another intriguing statement, revealing that Sony is expected to launch a handheld version of the PlayStation 5 later this year, priced at less than $300.

This development is tied to Sony’s Project Q, a wireless game streaming device designed to connect with the PS5. However, Sony has not disclosed any official details regarding the specific release date or pricing for this anticipated handheld device.

It’s no surprise that Sony plans to release the Playstation 5 Slim, considering previous consoles all had a Slim version. The Playstation 4 released it’s slim version at September 2016, launched 3 years after the initial Playstation 4 release, while the Pro version launch in November of 2016.

Following the timeline, it is only a matter of time the PS5 Slim releases, and we can’t wait to see what it holds.
